Northeast Iowa Community College has a variety of opportunities to earn a wage while learning. This earn and learn model benefits both students and local employers. For students, it provides not only career exploration but workforce readiness and technical skills to advance in your career. For businesses, it means you'll build a workforce equipped with the necessary technical skills that fit your unique needs.
Apprenticeships
These registered programs offer paid wages with a minimum of 144 hours of education and training working with an industry mentor. You could earn a nationally recognized certificate of completion.
Career Academy
Unique for high school students, these academies are great for career exploration and include work-based learning and an opportunity to earn a credential.
Career Pathway Certificates
Short training programs designed as direct pathways to entry-level employment or to improve employee skills.
Internships
Students earning a diploma or degree are provided with opportunities for on-the-job training and skill application.
Employee Upskilling
Increase technical skills without an employer losing production time or cutting back on work hours. You can balance work and learning with this unique training option.
Employer Sponsored Training
Training is fully or partially paid by an employer, so students can focus on their education while improving their technical skills.
