Male Auto student working on an engine

While classroom instruction is an important component of the program, you will spend a majority of your time in a full-service auto mechanics lab right on campus, learning to diagnose, document and complete repairs. The lab offers advanced diagnostic equipment to assist in work on automatic transmission/transaxle, brakes, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, heating and air conditioning, manual drivetrain and axles, suspension and steering. You will apply automotive theory while completing repair work while demonstrating accuracy, proficiency and quality.

More than 85 percent of students completing this program are hired as mechanics, with many hired before graduation. You will be prepared to take certification exams by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), a leading indicator of mechanic quality and aptitude.
